Born to South District scholars, Jessamine lived a blessed life until the Praepostancy Bureau (PBQA) tracked an “abnormally high” level of quintessence in their blood at age 13.

After five years of invasive testing, Jessamine joined the East District simulurgists and, after a traumatic accident on the job, self-exiled to West District to set up The Merchandicey.

When the PBQA escalated from recruiting agency to oppressive shadow, Jessamine passed the shop down to their young apprentice, Logan Apollo, and opted to live off grid beyond the reach of the city.
